Tree Planting

Tree Planting

Volunteers from the Higher Education Climate Consortium, in which Pitt participates, plant trees in Pittsburgh neighborhoods and prepare community gardens for winter.

Members of the Pitt community can recycle paper, cardboard, aluminum, glass, plastics, batteries, cell phones, and even iPods. See a list of Pittsburgh campus buildings where the recycling program operates.

Student Activities

In addition to doing coursework and research on sustainability and environmentalism, Pitt students can participate in groups like Engineers for a Sustainable World, Engineers Without Borders, Free the Planet, Greenpeace, Plate to Plate, the Pitt Student Environmental Coalition, and the Student Government Board Environmental Committee. Check out the Pitt Student Office of Sustainability's Facebook page.
